Our Story

Image First Retail was born from a mother's instinct to do better.

When her son began reacting to the harsh, poor-quality textiles found in the school uniforms on the market, she knew something had to change. Driven by care and a deep commitment to quality, she created uniforms that were softer, safer, and made to last — garments that offered real comfort and value for money.

The difference didn't go unnoticed. A teacher at Braeburn Garden Estate admired the uniform and asked her to supply the entire school. From a single classroom on campus, Image First began its journey — growing from one school to ten, from one shop at Valley Arcade to five retail outlets across Nairobi, including Regal Plaza (Parklands), TRM (Kasarani), Ruiru, and Juja City Mall.

Today, we proudly supply uniforms to over 50 schools across Kenya, including leading institutions like the Braeburn Group of Schools, and extend our expertise to global hospitality brands like JW Marriott, Radisson, and Hilton.

At the heart of our operation is a 100,000 square foot facility on Mombasa Road, where we manufacture all our uniforms locally. From knitting our own sweaters to tailoring every garment in-house, we maintain full control over quality. Our textiles are dermatologically friendly and predominantly made from Pro Series fabrics, tested through rigorous industrial washes to ensure they last up to two years.

We employ over 500 Kenyans, and our factory doubles as a vocational training centre, where tailors are upskilled and empowered to grow.

We are also committed to sustainability — upcycling waste fabrics into mattresses and furniture, lighting our buildings entirely with LEDs, adopting energy-efficient servo motor tailoring machines, and moving toward full solar power across our facility.
